Kena shows off in a new trailer showing details of its gameplay and history

Being one of the indie titles that aroused the most interest in the gaming community during the PS5 event, the company had many surprises up its sleeve. This time with a new trailer with details on its gameplay and history that was presented during the Future Game Show event.

Although his proposal seems cheerful and with hints of innocence, the reality is that the game shows to be much darker than it appears. At least that’s how they have revealed it in this new sample of its gameplay, where we see that it is a delivery that perfectly combines light and darkness throughout the adventure that Kena, its protagonist, will have to overcome.

The young spiritual guide will have to seek to liberate all the spirits trapped and corrupted by darkness on their journey for an action and adventure title that, in addition, will present us with all kinds of riddles to overcome. On the other hand, its game play is presented with quick fights and the great importance of exploration along with a fun collection component that is accompanied by the adorable Rot. Although, of course, we still have a good dose of information to know and that we hope will come throughout this year.

An unexpected connection to Mask

For many, Kena’s artistic style was a surprise and one of the points that most caught the eye. After all, its setting, cute forest creatures, and combat style managed to make many players want to know more about its history. But, what we really did not expect, is that this title had a connection with Majora’s Mask.

No, we are not talking about the game being developed by the team that made the creation of this installment of Zelda possible. Rather, the small Ember Lab studio is made up of an experienced group of animators who, in their day, left us speechless with a spectacular animated short inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. A short film that, even three years later, manages to captivate us in unique ways.

Without a doubt, the team made up of Brothers Michael and Josh Grier promises to be one of the great proposals of the next generation. Although, as was well announced during its presentation, it will have a temporary exclusivity on the Sony console to, later, make its big leap to PC.

Release date and platforms on which it will be available

One of the most awaited confirmations about this title is when we can enjoy this great action. Above all, in order to meet the friendly Rot, the forest spirits that will appear on our way to help us in our adventure. But, unlike its exposed gameplay and that part of history that was seen during its presentation, we do not have more details about its expected premiere.

Despite the fact that the game tab in the Epic Games Store points to a launch during this 2020 and the advanced state of the game (something that we could see in its gameplay) seems to indicate that this will be the great year of Kena: Bridge of Spirits, for the moment we will have to wait a little longer to know the official confirmation. Although, in the meantime, we can continue to marvel at its spectacular artistic style.

Its premiere will have temporary exclusivity on PlayStation 5

But unlike not knowing its release date, we know some of the platforms on which it will be available. PlayStation 5 was in charge of announcing that the title will be present with temporary exclusivity. But it didn’t take us long to know that it won’t be the only place that will allow us to enjoy Kena’s adventure since PC players will also have the opportunity to marvel at this spectacular magical adventure.

And for PlayStation 4 players? You can breathe easy since, a little later, it has been confirmed that the game will also be available on the current generation of consoles. Although the only thing we hope is to know a little more about the future of the game and if finally the rumors about its possible arrival on Xbox Series X are real.

Kena confirms its arrival on PlayStation 5 and a first look at its history

During the presentation event of PlayStation 5, the company showed us a wide series of games that will reach the next generation of consoles. Some of them exclusively and others as a temporary exclusive. In the latter case we came across Kena: Bridge of Spirits, one of the great surprises during the conference that has amazed the gaming community.

Developed by the small team at Ember Lab, this is an action-adventure game with a story set in a charming world that will be packed with exploration and quick combat. But his adventure is not only designed to have Kena as the protagonist, but also has a few more surprises.

The companion spirits that will cross our path

One of the points that most caught the attention of the players during the presentation was the presence of the Rots. These cute adorable creatures are fellow spirits that will come with the ability to improve skills and create new ways for us to manipulate the environment as we please.

These timid and illusory creatures will be scattered throughout the forest, maintaining balance by decomposing dead and rotting elements. And those who will not hesitate to help us as we find them although, for the moment, there are many elements that remain to be revealed about their true possibilities.

A frenzy of evidence-packed combat style

Another of the most attractive points of the game, and of which we still lack some details, is its frenetic gameplay. The title, much darker than it seems, will present us with all kinds of quick fights with which to show our great power. But, as our journey continues, Kena will have to face all kinds of dangers and, of course, puzzles.

Because our history will have, for us, saved too many tests. Deste combats in which to try to eliminate the great curse that is in the place until moments in which we will have to stop for a moment and think carefully about our movements to be able to overcome the riddle that is on our way. All this combined with the great importance that exploration will have in the title, although this is something that we will know throughout this year when, in turn, the small study offers us a broader look at its history.

Meanwhile, what we do know is that Kena: Bridge of Spirits will give us a first chance to try its great action on PlayStation 5, with a temporary exclusivity that will allow, later, its expected jump to PC. Still without an official confirmation of its possible premiere on Xbox Series X.
